Lot #1007:
(A) UNIQUE REMINGTON NEW MODEL POLICE .22 RF CONVERSION REVOLVER.
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 8/4/2026
This single action only model was introduced with its percussion system in 1865 and was discontinued in 1872. Numerous revolvers were factory converted to .38 rimfire beginning around 1872. This example was converted to .22 rimfire and there is no record that the factory ever did such a conversion. The conversion sleeves are readily apparent in the cylinder but not readily visible in the barrel but was sleeved to .22. Conversion with rear cylinder ring is standard factory type. The Remington legend appears atop the octagon barrel flat. Gun has an after market dovetailed front sight, original lever, blued finish, walnut grips and a silver plated trigger guard. CONDITION: Fine. Retains at least 80% of the dulling blue blending with soft patina. Trigger guard retains about 50% of its plating. Grips are solid with wear. Strong case color remains on hammer. Mechanically sound with a bright bore. Factory done or outside work is not known but it is a slick little conversion regardless.
