31-3/4" fine twist barrel with intriguing hinged breech. This gun is serial number 191 and appears as found. It has a straight grip buttstock with three point pattern checkering and 14-3/8" LOP over full steel buttplate. The lightly engraved action is mostly silvered. Matching numbered forend with wedge fastener is checkered in a three point pattern with bone triangular tip. These are not seen often and are one of the more clever breechloading designs. CONDITION: Very good as found. Barrels retain about half of their original finish. Action retains a pleasing gun metal grey finish. Stocks retain most of an older restored finish. Mechanics are fine. Bores are very good with some pitting. These guns are a "must have" for a collection of early American Breechloaders and are not often found.
