1 of 10,000 Type II Model 1795 flintlock muskets made at Springfield Armory between 1806 - 1809. 44 - 3/4" round smoothbore .69 caliber barrel with 2 iron barrel bands and double strap iron nosecap. Flintlock with detachable pan, marked "US / (Eagle) / SPRINGFIELD" and dated 1808. Walnut full military stock with iron hardware and original steel rod. PROVENANCE: Rich Guckes Collection. CONDITION: Metal has light surface pitting with balance turning a silvery patina. Lock appears to be original with surface turning a silvery patina. Wood has dark aged patina with period repair from a period mainspring break in front of the trigger guard.Dark bore with sticky mechanics. DLM
