This example manufactured in Middleton Conn in 1849 and so stamped on tang and lock that also sports the US and maker. Barrel is stamped US NWP (Nahum W. Patch) and P. All hardware in the white with brass furniture. The walnut stock exhibits the cartouche stamps (WAT for Wm. A. Thornton and JK for J. Kimball. Also features the swivel rod. CONDITION: Fine. Shows minor oxidation overall, Mechanically sound. The smooth bore is clean. Ex. Spangenberger collection.
