Whitney Navy, 2nd model, 1st type. Made early 1860s. Top of the barrel is marked "E.WHITNEY / N.HAVEN". Serial numbered marked on the bottom of the loading lever "209". No martial markings or cartouches. Octagon barrel with pin front sight and v-notch cut out rear. Brass trigger guard. Walnut grips are numbered to the gun on inside. CONDITION: Metal retains 60% factory blue on barrel with around 8% remaining on frame and cylinder, primarily in recessed areas. Brass trigger guard has some tarnish near the frame. Walnut grips have numerous small dents and scratches, but are very good overall. Bore is relatively clean, with some very light pitting near the muzzle. Tight hammer and cylinder. Nipples are relatively sharp and not dulled from dry firing. BRM
