Manufactured in 1953. Round blued superposed barrels with vented matte rib and single white bead, sprigs of engraving at breeches. Boxlock actions with French grey finish and detailed Midas grade engraving, including chiseled relief scrolls and scene of six pheasants in a hollow on the left side, the other side with five relief ducks, some in water, some in flight. The bottom features two grouse in flight, surrounded by scrolls. Left side of action signed by Browning master engraver "V. DOYEN" near bottom. Triggerguard bow with relief engraved scene of three pheasants. Features include single gold plated trigger, long tang, ejectors, and non-automatic thumb safeties/barrel selector. Highly figured varnished walnut stocks with round knob and Kickeez black buttpad, also includes an additional 1/4 spacer, probably from this stock when it was shortened. Checkered panels around wrist and on forearm. Complete with later Browning green canvas covered case with leather corner protectors and straps, green wool-lined partitioned interior. Excellent condition, showing little use, overall. Barrels retain 98% plus blue finish with very light wear from forearm and some light edge wear on rib. Excellent shiny bores. Action retains nearly all of finish with only a couple light storage marks. Trigger retains much of gilt finish. Stock very good with a few light storage marks. Case excellent with some storage marks and light scuffs. This is an excellent high grade and high condition early Belgian-made Browning!
