Produced in 1901 this early example features a round top slide and a functioning rear sight safety. Many of these pistols were returned to Colt and had the safety deactivated, making an original functioning safety highly collectable. Only 4,300 of these were produced from 1900 to 1903. The pistol features a case color high spur hammer and smooth walnut grips. The magazine has the 1884 patent date on the base of the floorplate. CONDITION: The blued finish exhibits small spots of discoloration on the left side of the slide. There is high edge wear on the muzzle and slide flats. The bore is bright and without issue. The pistol has all matching serial numbers.
