Manufactured 1919. Half moon front sight, flat top U notch rear sight, left side with 2 line 2 block patent and address information with intercepting pony, right side with "COLT AUTOMATIC / CALBIRE 45" in serif font. Barrel hoof has been polished, legends are a faint "83" and "P" ahead of lug and a horizontal "C" facing down on left side of lug. Top of frame with "S" near disconnector hole. Frame with "W" and Colt's VP proof on left side of trigger guard, "82" subinspector on left. Typical "GOVERNMENT MODEL" rollmark behind slide stop, with serial number underneath. Ivory grips checkered to resemble truncated diamond grips. Small parts comprise checkered spurred hammer, thick tab safety, long smooth milled trigger, checkered magazine release, short 1911 grip safety, smooth flat mainspring housing with lanyard loop. Two tone magazine. Fliptop Colt maroon box numbered to a different government model on the underside. Accompanied by a factory sealed box of Remington UMC .45 ACP. CONDITION: Metal retains the vast majority of the factory bluing with appropriate distension about some proofs from application of stamp. Superficial scratches throughout, most noticeable on left side of dust cover, as if idly drawn on by a scribe. Some mossing throughout and silvering to sharp edges. Grips are very good but are an ill fit, and appear newer than the gun. Mechanically fine, bore has strong rifling and some mild frosting throughout. Box has heavy distress and peeling with numerous tape repairs, but complete. Ammo very good with some distress and staining, but legible, and has been heat-shrunk to protect it.
