(C) DWM 1902 LUGER SEMI-AUTOMATIC PISTOL CARBINE IN .30 LUGER, WITH STOCK
Scarce, DWM Model 1902 Luger Carbine in 7.65 Luger. There were only ever 2,500 of this model manufactured and they are among the most sought after and exotic Lugers ever produced. They were envisioned to be used as a light rifle but the great expense of the model did not allow for significant commercial success and they are considered to be in the pantheon of the most desirable collector firearms. The last three digits are marked on the inside of the forend. The last two digits are marked on the back of the rear toggle, the bottom of the front toggle, the bottom of the barrel extension lug, the bottom of the takedown lever, left of the trigger, and left of the grip safety. The front sight is a beaded blade dovetailed to a serrated, ramped base fixed to the barrel. The rear sight is a four-position “U”-notch which slides in a banded base fixed to the rear of the barrel. The positions are graduated from one to three hundred meters with a position between two and three. The sight arm is released with a button on the left of the base, allowing it to be slid to each position. There is no rear sight on the rear toggle link. CONDITION: This pistol retains about 95% of its metal finish. The finish is mottled in spots on the barrel top surface and the front grip strap. There are a few light nicks and scratches. The strawed parts retain strong finish. There is wear on the mounting lug at the bottom of the backstrap. The action shows light operational wear. The screw heads range from sharp to tool marked with strong slots. The markings are clear. Overall, the pistol and stock exhibit a very high condition, the bore is bright and free of defects. Mechanically fine, bore excellent with some minor pinpricking towards muzzle.
