Manufactured in Czechoslovakia in the 1930s under contract for Persia, modern Iran, these are some of the finest Mauser rifles built. This example remains in classic configuration with full lustrous blued finish, protected blade front sight, Farsi numbered tangent rear sight, and 2-piece gloss finished finger groove walnut stocks. Receiver ring features the Persian crest. Matching Farsi serial numbers observed on receiver, bolt, and stock. No visible import markings. CONDITION: Excellent as unissued and full of dried grease. Nearly all of the factory blue is retained throughout with only very light high edge silvering around the muzzle. Screws display strong straw coloring, some fading present on a few. Stocks have only a few scattered, minor marks. Mirror bore, possibly unfired. Fine mechanics. A very nice example.
