Lot #1265:
(C) FN BROWNING MODEL 1922 SEMI-AUTOMATIC PISTOL.
The first Nazi inspected Model 1922 pistols appear in the 288,000 serial range making this example one of the last pre-war pistol serial range. It is standard blue finish with matching number on barrel extension, numerous Belgium proof stamps, a wind drift rear sight, FN monogram gutta percha grips and sports a lanyard ring on left side. There are some inspector stamps on right trigger bow of T5, N9 and A in box. This boasts the pre war high polish commercial finish. CONDITION: Excellent. Retains at least 95% blue showing some minor wear at muzzle, minimal high edge wear and nominal handling. Grips are excellent. Bore is bright. Blued magazine is stamped FN 7.65. Given the duration of the war and heavy use of this model pistol, it is quite unusual to find such a fine condition pre-war commercial.
