The FNC was developed in Belgium by FN Herstal, developed circa 1974-1976 as a competitor to the ubiquitous M16 and was made famous when used by Al Pacino in HEAT. This example is marked on left side of the receiver with "FABRIQUE NATIONALE HERSTAL / MADE IN BELGIUM / GUN SOUTH. INC. TRUSSVILLE AL." with caliber marking to rear and "HOWCO DIST. INC. / LAUREL, MD. USA.". Left side of frame with "S / 1" fire control markings. Sidefolding paratrooper wire stock. 2 position aperture rear sight with marks for 250 and 400 meters, front sight an elevation adjustable post. Flip up grenade sight. Distinct polymer handguard and 12 port flash hider. Sling swivel mounted on barrel. Cleaning kit with pull through and multiple heads present in pistol grip. CONDITION: Very good, with evidence of range use and storage throughout, with scattered handling marks and some surface mottling, still retaining virtually all of the factory finishes. Muzzle device is not quite flush, exposing some threads. Mechanically fine, bore excellent with strong rifling and some mild frosting.
