Manufactured 1961 on a Sauer action and subsequently finished in the US; these rifles are considered some of the best quality rifles Weatherby produced. Rapid taper barrel marked "MADE IN GERMANY" on right side of shank, "Weatherby / .300 MAGNUM" on left side. Action with "Mark V / Patents Pending" Weatherby cursive logo with simple engraving at rear, and serial number on right side of fore ring. Custom stock with contrasting forearm grip, modified point pattern checkering at forearm and wrist, bottom metal engraved 'WGS" in a diamond of scrollwork with hatch shading, flowing cheekpiece, fluted note, and Pachmayr basketweave rubber recoil pad. Studs at forearm and toe line. Mounted with a Redfield fixed 4x scope with a 1" tube, reticle is a fine line with enlarged center target dot. CONDITION: Good as used with typical scattered marks from handling and storage. Barrel with heavy rubs to silver, particularly for first 4" from muzzle. Stock very good with scattered handling marks, impressions, and a few abraded heads to checkering. Mechanically fine, bore with strong rifling and moderate frosting. Scope clear.
