The live portion of this session begins on Tuesday, September 15, 2026.
Dates to 1904. This was a relatively new cartridge in 1904 having only been introduced in 1902. This is a standard rifle with full octagon barrel, full tube magazine, Beech folding front sight, Winchester rear sight slot filler and sporting a tang peep sight. There are no PW proof stamps and has the correct Winchester barrel legend, smokeless powder legend and caliber. Finish is high polished blue frame, rust blued barrel and full magazine, case color lever, hammer and butt plate. Walnut stock is proud to metal with rifle butt plate and matching forearm. CONDITION: Excellent. The frame retains at least 99% of its high polish blue exhibiting some minor freckles and handling. Barrel and tube also retain about 98% blue with some minute freckles. Screws are true and retain nearly all their bright blue finish. The loading gate still retains nearly all its nitre blue finish. The case colors on hammer and lever are still bold and bright , even on the base of loop. Even the butt plate retains some good color. Stocks are excellent with nominal impressions. Mechanically sound with a well defined bold bore showing hint of frosting. This rifle has seen very little use and is just about as nice as they come. It is estimated that less than 10% of all production prior to the mid 300,000 were in this caliber making it the scarcest cartridge during this era.
