Standard model 1891 Mosin Nagant with hexagonal receiver. Dated 1915. Made by New England Westinghouse under contract for Russia. Has both US and Russian inspectors markings. All matching numbers. This rifle is featured on page 57 of Luke Mercaldo's fine book "ALLIED RIFLE CONTRACTS IN AMERICA". PROVENANCE: Luke Mercaldo Collection. CONDITION: It would be extremely difficult to upgrade the condition of this gun. Retains 98% original finish overall. All markings are sharp and clear. Wood is excellent with very minor handling marks. Excellent bore with sharp rifling. Fine mechanical function. This rifle is accompanied by a Copy of Luke Mercaldo's book and is hand signed by the author. GR
