Lot #2295:
(C) ITHACA NID NUMBER 2 GRADE SIDE BY SIDE SHOTGUN
Dates to 1926. Features the number two engraving on the box lock frame featuring scroll, a single quail on the left side, a woodcock on the right side, and the "ITHACA GUN Co" legend on both sides. Also features dual triggers, matted solid ribbed blued barrels with dual bead sights and manual extractor. The checkered pistol grip walnut stock exhibits the black cap and an Ithaca red vented recoil pad and matching checkered splinter forearm with ebony tip. All numbers are matching. CONDITION: Very good. Engraving is crisp but now a dull grey patina with colors only visible inside. The barrel retains most of its reapplied blue finish shows some minor handling. The stock was nicely refinished when they added the more modern pad and checkering is sharp. The forearm was not refinished and shows some softening checkered with some added finish. Lock up is tight and bores are bright.
