(C) J. P. LOWER RETAILER MARKED WINCHESTER MODEL 1907 SELF LOADING RIFLE.

Dates to 1906. This very early 3-digit rifle was shipped to the famed Colorado dealer J.P. Lower. It is stamped on both sides of the frame "J.P.LOWERS & SONS DENVER COLO". It is a standard rifle with blue finish, a replaced bead dovetailed on base front sight, a flat top sporting rear sight, and a left side mounted receiver peep sight. Finish is standard blue. The tang has the Model 1907 stamp. Walnut stock has a plain pistol grip with fully checkered metal buttplate and matching forearm. The Winchester marked magazine appears to be a replacement. CONDITION: Fine. The frame retains at least 60% of its bright blue, mostly on sides, with balance blended to a pleasing patina. The barrel retains approximately 90% of the blue finish with sharp barrel legends. Stocks are excellent showing nominal impressions. Mechanically sound and exhibiting a strong but lightly frosted bore.
