Arsenal converted to 7.62x51 as indicated by the barrel marked "(Canadian Proof) 7.62" Protected post front sight, rear sight is Parker Hale PH 5C aperture rear sight. Clear markings on left side of receiver "No 4 MK I * / LONG BRANCH / 1945", "MAK" in circle on fore ring, and "296" on right side of fore ring with the appropriate Canadian stylized arrowhead over "P" proof. Grooved cocking piece. Matching numbers on bolt handle and wrist, wrist additionally marked "B13". Wrist marked with a "B" over a Canadian Land Service proof in wood behind trigger guard, comb marked "S". Buttplate with trap, cover marked with Canadian proof. Cloth sling marked "62". CONDITION: Very good as arsenal refurbished and converted. Receiver is very good with crisp legends and some very minor handling marks. Barrel is very good, bore is excellent with crisp rifling. Some minor age-related patina that does not detract, on small parts such as rear sight drum and safety. Action is smooth, bore is excellent with strong rifling. Breech face is good with some minor evidence of use. Long Branch is known to have converted a number of Mk IV rifles to 7.62 and this is a good example. EMW
