(C) LOT OF 2: IVER JOHNSON AND WINCHESTER MODEL 20 SINGLE SHOT SHOTGUNS.

The deluxe matted rib model was introduced in 1912 and was basically their tried and true Champion model that they had been producing since 1890. It was upgraded with a solid matted (serrated) rib, a deluxe hand checkered walnut stock with black grip cap and an Iver Johnson Owl Head black composition butt plate and a matching hand checkered walnut forearm with a schnauble tip. The case color frame reads " MATTED RIB" on the left side. This four digit all letter serial number dates this shotgun from 1940 through 1950. Left side of barrel is stamped Choke bore (full) but now has an adjustable Poly Chock. CONDITION: Excellent. The scarce shotgun retains a solid 85% bright case color. Barrel retains nearly all of its blue finish exhibiting minor handling. Stocks are excellent with sharp checkering and nominal impressions. Fine working order, tight as a drum with a bright bore. B. Winchester Model 20 in .410 bore. Only produced from 1920 through 1924. This was the standard shotgun provided in the deluxe boxed youth trap shooting kits sold at that time. They were choked Full and used the older 2 3/4" shorter shells. Finish was standard blue, the barrel having a single bead front sight and has the plain pistol grip walnut stock with the Winchester gutta percha butt plate and matching forearm with the schnauble tip. CONDITION: Fine. Barrel retains about 70% blue with thinning and some age freckling. Receiver is basically soft brown patina with flashes of blue. Stocks are solid with some light scattered dings and impressions. Mechanically sound with a bright bore. A nice pair of very scarce early shotguns.
