Made in 1935, this two barrel set Remington Model 32 has one set of barrels that has inserts to 20 gauge that measure 26" (1/4" longer with inserts at muzzle) with raised ventilated matted top rib and steel mid bead and red front bead. Barrel set (B) is a 28" set with similar top rib except it has white beads. The set has one forearm which is nicely checkered in wave pattern and fleur de lis at breech ends with deeply inset Deeley release. The action, which appears to be plated, is nicely engraved, perhaps by the Remington Custom Shop, with pointer in oval outlined game scene on left surrounded by scroll engraving. Bottom of action is nicely scroll engraved and marked "Remington / Model 32 / 1840". The short tang trigger guard is lightly scroll engraved with open scroll at bow. The right side of the action is engraved in similar pattern as left, though has a setter in game scene. Top of action with nicely cut scroll engraving. Top tang is blued as is trigger guard. Beveled edge full knob buttstock is of Claro Walnut and checkered with fleur de lis behind action and wave pattern through grip. The butt terminates with a Monte Carlo and black ventilated "Mershon" brand white lined pad. The gun is cased in a hard plastic green case with foam liner. CONDITION: Very good. Barrels retain about 90% of their original blued finish. Custom stocks are good and retain about 90% of their custom hand rubbed finishes. The action is very good and retains about 80% of its plated finish. Top tang, top lever, and trigger guard retain about 70% of their blued finishes. Bores are a touch dirty but will clean to bright and shiny. Ejectors are out of time, otherwise mechanics are good. Case is very good with handling marks. JSL
