Lot #1204:
(C) OUTSTANDING COLT MODEL 1911-A1 .45 ACP SEMI-AUTOMATIC PISTOL (1939)
Manufactured 1939. High polish blue finish with 2 piece checkered walnut grips. Short milled checkered trigger. Blue finished barrel marked "COLT 45 AUTO" on lower left side of chamber. Checkered safety and slide stop with correct wide short hammer and long spur grip safety. Slide is serial number matching to frame. These are one of the hardest Model 1911-A1 pistols to find for modern collectors. These bright polished blue pistols saw the entire WWII conflict and continued issue through Korea and Vietnam. Finding a stellar example like this is extremely difficult. CONDITION: Outstanding with over 96% blue finish remaining with some very light high point wear, front strap thinning and a Brilliant bore. Crisp legends and inspections. Mechanically excellent. A truly excellent example of the pre-War production 1911-A1 .45 pistol.
