(C) OUTSTANDING USMC ISSUED COLT MODEL 1911 U.S. NAVY SEMI-AUTOMATIC PISTOL.

Shipped May 12 1914 to the USMC 1100 Broad Street Philadelphia Pa. (Goddard p.237 THE GOV'T MODELS). Inspected By Walter C. Penfield on left side of frame above magazine release. Marked "UNITED STATES PROPERTY" on left side of frame. Long smooth trigger with proper checkered slide stop and safety. Flat mainspring housing and short grip safety. Early and correct rounded rear sight with proper tapered front blade sight. Right side of slide marked "MODEL OF 1911 U.S. NAVY". Correct blue finished "H P" proofed barrel marked vertically. Long checkered hammer. 2-piece checkered walnut grips. Two tone magazine with lanyard loop. CONDITION: Excellent. Outstanding overall finish with some period of use flaking finish on slide with over 85% blue finish remaining with some light edge wear. Frame has some light wear at front strap, thinning finish on main spring housing, and very light wear on grip safety. Grips are very fine with some bruises and impressions. Internally gun has some very old dried grease from storage. Bore is exceptionally fine. Mechanically excellent. This is one of the finest Navy marked Marine Corps examples ever observed.
