This large frame Marlin model was introduced in 1895 and produced through 1917. It features the octagon barrel, dovetailed bead front sight, half magazine, semi buckhorn rear sight, blued finish, walnut stock and matching forearm. Barrel displays the proper Marlin legends as does the tang. The barrel has been shortened. The rear stock appears to be a replacement or altered with butt plate top tang filler, a homemade butt plate and a large screw through the wrist.. The forearm is shy of metal having been refinished at one time. Receiver retains approximately 40% blue drifting patina. Barrel and tube are drifting but retain a bluish hue. All legends are sharp. Mechanically sound retaining a bold bore.
