Lot #2338:
(C) PRE-WAR WINCHESTER MODEL 12 SKEET SLIDE ACTION SHOTGUN.
Dates to 1937. The base of frame is stamped Skeet. Standard features include the blue finish, take down, matted solid rib, checkered pistol grip walnut stock with black Winchester grip cap, solid red Winchester butt plate and matching extended 9 1/2" checkered forearm. CONDITION: Fine. Receiver retains about 75% blue with balance thinning along with high edge wear. Barrel blue is thinning near breech as is rear of tube. The red pad is newer and stock appears refinished when pad was added but checkering is still sharp. Standard barrel length of a Skeet gun should be 26" so this was either or custom order or was shortened at some point. Mechanically sound with a bright bore.
