Made in 1954, this very rare 20 bore Superposed made with 26 - 1/2" barrels that have narrow matted low profile ventilated game rib. Barrels with usual markings and chokes marked Imp. Cyl & Mod. Round nosed forend is checkered in point pattern with engraved release. Coin finished action is beautifully engraved, signed by V. Doyen on left side. Engraving consists of pheasants on left, doves on bottom, ducks on right all surrounded by well executed floral scroll engraving. Gold plated single selective trigger, auto ejectors, and non-auto safety. Beautiful straight grained walnut stock is of round knob long tang configuration and is checkered in point pattern through the wrist and terminates with its original Browning composition buttplate. Housed in a fine early Tolex case. CONDITION: Excellent. Barrels retain nearly all of a factory quality restored finish. The action retains nearly all of its original coin finish. Stocks are excellent with minor handling marks and retain nearly all what appears to be their factory original finish with some finish added for preservation. Bores are bright and shiny. Mechanics are crisp. Case is excellent with minor handling marks and rubs. This is a very rare early gun worthy of a hard look by any serious student of the Superposed shotgun. JSL
