Rare standard Super Grade Winchester Model 70 bolt action magazine rifle made in rare .35 Remington caliber in 1948. Winchester blued 24" barrel made from Winchester Proof Steel with hooded ramp front sight, Winchester 22G rear sight, and Winchester 2-line address. Barrel is marked "35 REM" on top with underside marked "35 REM" and dated "47". Black matted correct Type II receiver with Type II style tang. Front bridge has factory drilled 2 holes, rear bridge having two non-factory drilled holes, with factory Lyman 48 receiver sight. Bolt has solid handle with Type II safety and is electropenciled with gun's serial number "85646". Extractor is marked with an "A" and although not the correct "R" marking it has been stated in Rule's Book "The Rifleman's Rifle" that "A" marked Hornet extractor were sometimes used instead of the "R". Correct blued Super Grade marked detachable floorplate and trigger guard. Correct checkered walnut Super Grade stock with black forend tip, steel Widow's Peak checkered buttplate, and correct early style cheekpiece and Winchester logo grip cap. Comes with correct sling swivels and is made in correct time frame of 1941 to 1948. CONDITION: 90% barrel blue with some light corner wear. 90% frame finish with light handling wear with bolt handle wearing to a silvery patina. 90% original varnish with some light handling marks and scratches. Good bore and mechanics. A good rifle in hard to find condition and caliber. DLM
