Lot #1236:
(C) ROMAINAN CONTRACT STEYR-HAHN MODEL 1912 SEMI-AUTOMATIC PISTOL.
Prior to the First World War, Romania ordered approximately 12,000 to 25,000 pistols but order was never totally filled once the war broke out as balance of in stock production was procured for the Austrian military. Left side of slide has what remains of a ghost image of their logo and only Md 1912 beneath the polished off crest. Rear of slide stamped Steyr 1913 along with exporters stamp. Parts have been renumbered to match. This example shows K&Z sub inspector stamps. This was probably part of the Romanian non shipped order and polished off for issue to Austrian military. Features the arsenal blue finish with checkered walnut grips. CONDITION: Very good. Retains the majority of its post WW1 arsenal reapplied blue finish. Grips are excellent. Bore is strong but lightly frosted.
