It is estimated that less than 8000 of these guns were made in 1940-41 and were never reintroduced after the war. This was Winchesters second try at producing semi-automatic shotguns after the dismal Model 1911 Widow maker. This rare gun also features a factory applied Lyman Cutts compensator. The lack of choke legend at breech indicates this example is factory applied and it was a factory option during both years of production. Standard features include the blue finish, a walnut stock, a checkered pistol grip with a Winchester cap and black butt plate with matching forearm. CONDITION: Excellent. Shows in almost near new condition retaining virtually all of its factory blue finish with minute handling marks. The stock is also in near new condition with some minor impressions. Bore is bright. Very rare. This writer could not find another example with a factory Cutts having sold recently.
