(C) SIG PE57 7.5X55MM SEMI-AUTOMATIC RIFLE WITH SPARE MAGAZINE.
The PE57 or Privat Einzelfeuer rifle is a factory semi-automatic civilian variant of the roller-delayed Stgw. 57 battle rifle manufactured by SIG in Switzerland. These were the only 7.5x55mm civilian variants produced of the Stgw. 57 and are compatible with many standard issue components. Just 5,000 were made with very few imported into the United States in the early 1980s. It features a Swiss proofed barrel with perforated grenade launcher muzzle device and blued perforated heat shield. Flip up protected blade front sight and adjustable aperture rear. Receiver is matte finished with Swiss cross and shield device as well as SIGARMS import marking. Furniture includes a folding bipod, rubber handguard, folding carry handle, serrated polymer pistol grip, and "83" dated rubber stock. Matching numbers observed throughout. This example is accompanied by 2 24-round magazines and manual. CONDITION: Excellent with only light handling marks. Mirror bore. Fine mechanics. An excellent example of a very scarce and highly desirable Swiss rifle.
