Stevens Model 44 .22 Long Rifle single shot rifle. Receiver is marked "TRADEMARK STEVENS", barrel is marked "22 - LONG RIFLE", and "J. STEVENS ARMS COMPANY". Serial number is "78370". Heavy blued barrel has fixed front sight which is adjusted for windage by tapping it. Rear sight is the spring steel adjustable sight. Case hardened receiver and trigger guard. Bare metal butt plate with lower screw missing. Walnut forearm and stock. CONDITION: Overall excellent. Barrel retains approximately 95% of it finish, and receiver retains 65-70% of it case hardening. Steel butt plate has no finish with light freckling. Wood exhibits only very light wear. Bore is bright (with slight graying) and rifle is mechanically sound. WEZ
