The Stevens Model 620 military riot gun is far scarcer than the Model 520. This is a later production which features the non-checkered pistol grip stock. This example has all matching numbers. Left side of barrel is stamped and "P" with Ordnance bomb. Left side of frame is stamped, "P" with Ordnance bomb along with "U.S." above trigger guard. Metal was finished in a green matte phosphate finish which 90% still remains on all metal parts. The walnut stocks are still excellent with the usual dings. This World War II issue shotgun is discussed in detail in the "Complete Guide to Combat Shotguns" by Bruce Canfield. These short barreled U.S. issued guns have been climbing in popularity and value continuously over the last few years given their importance to the U.S. military during the second World War. The action is fine and has a clean bore. Definitely a collector grade and fairly scarce World War II model.
