Standard configuration Rock-Ola M1 carbine. Made in the first run of guns produced by Rock-Ola, dating this gun to early 1943 by serial number. "2-43" dated Rock-Ola marked barrel. "M-R" marked type 1 band, however due to the finish wear on the barrel, it would appear this gun was equipped with a later bayonet lug band which had been changed back. Flat bolt. "RR" proper marked flip rear sight, certainly has been changed at some point. Early style receiver with detachable recoil spring guide tube. National Postal Meter type 2 trigger housing. IBM type 3 slide. M2 style magazine catch. Lever style safety. "RMC" marked I cut high wood stock and hand guard. "RMC" and ordnance wheel on right side of stock appear restamped. The "RMC" marking in sling swivel well is original. Front sight is missing the pin and is sitting a bit too far forward. Import marked on bottom of barrel. Comes with late production sling, oiler and magazine. CONDITION: Very good, as assembled. Retains 85% finish. Markings are clear. Bore is very good with strong rifling. Wood has some dings and handling marks with clear markings, there is a chip at the bottom edge of the grip. Fine mechanical function. Some rust and pitting on magazine. GR
