This world-famous revolver is probably most remembered today for its appearance in the Humphrey Bogart movie "The Maltese Falcon". It was one of the first ever automatic six shot revolvers. It has the Model 1902 separate sideplates and cylinder. Stamped "WEBLEY - FOSBERY" on left side of frame with "455 CORDITE" and Webley & Scott logo. Right side of frame has serial number. Matching serial number on cylinder and barrel. Features black composite grips with left side safety and lanyard ring. Grips have small crack on left side and small chip at upper right. Hammer has side checkering. Gun is a top break. Metal is basically silver patina mixed with blue. All proper English proofs. Fine working order. Excellent bore and action. Grips could be easily repaired. This is an excellent and scarce English revolver. Details on this revolver can be found in the book "The Webley Story" by Dowell, pages 127 to 138.
