Special ordered from Winchester Repeating Arms in 1907. Blued 22" round carbine style barrel specifically noted in research as a smokeless steel barrel. Barrel is fitted with standard carbine front pinned blade, 1906 style graduated flip rear sight, and marked with Winchester address and "45-70"/ Winchester proofmark. Fully blued tubular magazine with blued barrel bands. Blued solid frame with attached saddle ring, case-hardened lever and hammer, top tang marked "Model 1886/-WINCHESTER-/TRADE MARK". Standard plain walnut stock special ordered with Crescent rifle steel buttplate. Matching plain walnut factory forearm. Comes with Cody Research verifying all options. CONDITION: 90% original finish with light handling marks. Blue starting to wear to silver at carry points and near edges with wood having some light handling marks and an oil-soaked appearance, and noticeable grain texture. Forearm has an old crack in center in front of barrel band. Receiver shows nice saddle ring shadow. Hammer and lever fading to a silvery patina. Magazine tube has some small scratches and a small dent on right side near front barrel band. Great bore and mechanics. '86 saddle ring carbines are beginning to be hard to find.
