(C) WINCHESTER MODEL 1894 LEVER ACTION RIFLE IN .38-55
Fine Winchester Model 1894 Winchester Rifle with round barrel with 2 line Winchester barrel address. Top of chamber marked with "38-55". Traditional Winchester proofs at top chamber and receiver bridge. Blue finished with sporting blade front sight and elevation adjustable sporting rear sight. Varnished, straight grained American walnut stocks with crescent buttplate. Full length magazine. Hammer, lever, and buttplate are case colored. CONDITION: Fine overall with 80% blue finish remaining on barrel and magazine with small older oxidation on barrel just forward of forend cap and period brown visible under blue when viewed with high intensity light. Receiver retains 75% blue consistent with barrel and magazine. Hammer, lever, and buttplate have strong shadows of case colors. Bore is very good with some older darkness in areas of lands and grooves. Stocks are fine with moderate period of use handling and impressions. Mechanically fine and very attractive.
