The Model 1901 was made in 10 gauge only, and has a stronger frame than the Model 1887, for use with smokeless powder. It includes a five shot magazine. This fairly high condition example has 30" barrel marked "full" with all correct markings on top. Blued action has "WRA" monogram on left side. Top tang is marked "WINCHESTER". Low profile hammer is color case hardened. Plain American walnut round knob semi-pistol grip buttstock measures 13" over checkered steel buttplate. Forend is comprised of two pieces, one on each side of barrel/magazine assembly. Excellent condition. Barrel and action retain over 90% original blue with some loss on high edges, with some scattered thinning and flaking. Hammer retains nearly all of its color. Stocks retain over 90% original finish with some rubs and scratches. Bore is mostly shiny, but with an area of pitting about 12" back from muzzle. Mechanically excellent. These guns are in demand for cowboy action shooting.
