(C) WW2 JOHNSON AUTOMATICS MODEL 1941 SEMI-AUTOMATIC RIFLE
Scarce "B" series Model 1941 Johnson Semi Automatic rifle with 10 round rotary magazine loaded with traditional 5 round Springfield Model 1903 stripper clips. These rifles where manufactured by the Cranston Arms company of New Jersey after successful testing by the United States Marine Corps. Numerous Marine Units were issued the 1941 rifle, including the 3rd Parachute Battalion as well as the 3rd Marines and specialty units. Parkerized finish. Laminated 3 piece buttstock with lightened perforated receiver. Shrouded blade front sight with 1000 meter slide adjustable rear sight. The unique takedown design from Melvin Johnson allowed the rifle to be used in a jump case the size of an M1 Carbine but with substantial firepower. Fitted with triangular spike pattern bayonet and mounted with an oiled G&K 1918 dated leather pattern 1905 rifle sling. CONDITION: Very good with fine sharp bore with some light frosting at edges of grooves. The metal retains over 85% of the thinning parkerized finish. The oil finished walnut stocks are very fine with some period of use impressions and bruises. The bayonet is very fine. Mechanically excellent.
