(M) PARKWEST ARMS SD-76 "DARK CONTINENT" .450 RIGBY BOLT ACTION RIFLE WITH CASE.
These rifles were designed by Parkwest Arms to meet the harsh requirements of hunting on African safaris. Heavy profile barrel with a white bead front sight on a smooth ramp and protected by a button-retained hood on a sleeve sweated on to muzzle. Band sweated approximately halfway down barrel with eye. Quarter length rib with screwed-in fixed leaf express rear sight with white enamel enhanced express line, and engraved "450 RIGBY" on left side of shank. Case colored action fit with Talley ring bases case colored en suite, three position wing safety, serial number above left side gas escape port, Parkwest Arms logo on left side, and a five-panel checkered bolt knob. Hinged floorplate magazine case colored en suite and engraved with large format scrollwork and gold inlaid "PW0109 / 450 RIGBY". Gorgeous, densely grained Bastogne walnut stock with rich fiddleback built with a contrasting rosewood forend cap, fleur-de-lis pattern checkering at forearm and pistol grip, case colored reinforcing bolts below action, case colored pistol grip cap, pancake cheekpiece, golden oval at toe line, and a case colored eye at toe line. Housed in a Negrini case with Parkwest Arms certificate in lid and containing accessories including case colored QD Talley rings, allen wrench for same, factory paperwork packet including test target, and manuals. CONDITION: Excellent, retaining virtually all of the finishes to metal and wood with some very mild handling and storage marks. Mechanically fine, bore with strong rifling and some moderate frosting, likely from proof. An outstanding rifle in a great cartridge well suited to Africa.
