(M) PRE-BAN STEYR IMPORTED MAADI ARM 7.62X39MM SEMI-AUTOMATIC RIFLE.
A scarce AK variant made in Egypt and imported by Steyr. Matching partial serial numbers found on dust cover, recoil spring head, bolt head, and bolt carrier. Distinct black enamel finish throughout with slant muzzle brake, protected post fornt sight, adjustable U notch rear sight graduated from "1" to 10", Maadi logo on right side of rear sight block, left side with Farsi. Palm swell forearm, bakelite pistol grip, and buttstock with correct rivets and an added white line recoil pad. Correct unmarked Egyptian magazine with teardrop rivets. Accompanied by a teal-green sling and a Type II bayonet with brown bakelite grip. CONDITION: With the vast majority of the black enamel finish throughout with scattered handling marks and rubs throughout, some silvering on sharp edges and scattered mottling. Pistol grip with spiderweb cracking at screw. Accessories good with scattered handling mark en suite, bayonet with epoxy about the bayonet lug. Mechanically fine, bore with strong rifling and some mild frosting, some fine oxidation to muzzle device. A very scarce variant as made in Egypt.
