After the adoption by the United States Armed forces of the M-9 pistol shooter and competitors alike looked for target or upgraded competition variations of the M-9. Beretta answered these request with a rarely encountered Competition version that included both the standard 5" barrel and an extended 7-1/4" target barrel with extended shroud and high profile sights. Mounted with a fully adjustable target sight and wood thumb rest target stocks and adjustment tools and a set of service grips. This was all encompassed into a travel case for range use and transportation. Very few of these units were ever sold due to their considerable cost. Later a lesser expensive option was available as a kit that included the grips and barrel assembly only. Complete competition sets are very rarely found as very few were ever produced. CONDITION: Very fine with slight use evident. Finish is excellent with very insignificant edge wear at high points. Bore is bright and shiny with sharp lands and grooves. Action is smooth and functions properly. Case is very good with very slight oil staining inside from firearms storage and use.
