The SIG 552 Commando was introduced in 1998 as a carbine version of the SIG 550 for elite units. Manufactured in Switzerland, very few made it to the United States during the Ban era for restricted sales to law enforcement as imported by SIGARMS. The right side of the receiver has "RESTRICTED FOR LAW ENFORCEMENT/GOVERNMENT USE AND/OR EXPORT ONLY" engraving. Top has the Swiss cross and shield. The 9" pencil barrel is permanently fitted with a faux, suppressor extension bringing the overall barrel length to over 16". Hooded blade front sight with flip up night sight and drum diopter rear sight. Furniture includes a black polymer forend with accessory rails, ribbed pistol grip, and side folding stock with ribbed rubber butt. Externally visible numbers are matching. Accompanied by its instruction manual. CONDITION: Excellent. Nearly all of the finish is retained with some scattered handling marks and evidence of careful use. The is a small section of finish loss to the rear of the ejection port from contact with ejected brass. Bright bore. Fine mechanics.
