(M) SABATTI CLASSIC SAFARI .45-70 SIDE BY SIDE DOUBLE RIFLE.
CF date code for 2010. Mono-bloc barrels fit with a fiber optic front sight on a slightly raised island with a matted ground, green fiber optic dovetailed into quarter rib matted en suite with four drilled and tapped holes with filler screws. Engraved "Mod. SAFARI cal. 45-70 GOV" over right tube, left with USSG import marking. Bottom of rib with a screw on island with eye. Bottom of right tube with "MAXIMUM OPERATING PRESSURE 2200 BAR" with Italian nitro proofs. Barrel flats with "+FGS+", serial number, and Italian nitro proof. Fit with extractors. Schnabeled low-profile beavertail forearm with point pattern checkering about a central escutcheon. Exterior iron with engraved designs of florals on a stippled ground. Scalloped boxlock action with disc set strikers, blacked double triggers, a non-automatic safety with "S" ahead of slide, and a cast and pierced lever in the form of a beast. Receiver engraved with oak and scrollwork, both sides marked "SABATTI" where it abuts wrist. Recoil shields with repeating ornamental designs, underside of action with "CLASSIC / SAFARI" in a ribbon supported by oak and scrollwork en suite, and a bugling bull elk in a mountainous scene; engraving is signed "Inc. Bresciani" on left side of trigger guard, right side with "MADE IN ITALY". Trigger guard with simple oak and scrollwork. Walnut stock with sidepanels, pistol grip, pancake cheekpiece, and two panels of point pattern checkering at the wrist. Fit with a red rubber recoil pad and sling stud at toe line. Housed in a green Negrini case containing proof certificate, test target, and scope mount. CONDITION: Excellent, retaining virtually all of the factory finishes, with some very minor scattered handling marks. Some minor freckling to rib and to trigger guard. Stocks excellent. Mechanically fine, bore with strong rifling and some minor frosting. Case and accessories excellent.
