(M) VALMET M83 HUNTER .308 WINCHESTER SEMI-AUTOMATIC RIFLE WITH BOX.
Manufactured in Finland 1985 as is confirmed by the included factory certificate and "b" receiver code. These sporting rifles/designated marksmen rifles are based on the M78 Valmet, Kalashnikov style design. They were not commercially available in the United States with very few imported. Rifle is matte black finished and has a milled receiver. White highlighted blade front sight and flip up adjustable square notch rear. The dust cover is also fitted with a scope base. Nice sporting style checkered forend and pistol grip stock with Valmet rubber pad. Gun is accompanied by its original matching box with certificate and cleaning kit. CONDITION: Excellent. Virtually all of the original finishes are retained with a few light marks. Stocks are excellent. Crisp, bright bore. Fine mechanics. Box shows fading, soiling, and wear from long term storage. A seldom seen Valmet variant.
