(M) WEST GERMAN SAVAGE ANSCHUTZ MODEL 54M .22 MAGNUM BOLT ACTION RIFLE.
Introduced in the 1960s as Savage had merged with Anschutz in 1963. One of the finest production magnum rifles ever built. It features a finely blued metal finish with a hooded ramp front sight, a folding leaf rear, a beautifully grained walnut stock with hand checkered diamond pattern pistol grip, a contrasting cap with inlay, a black butt plate, sling eyes, and a matched checkered forearm with slender Schnabel tip. Fit with a high quality Bushnell Scope Chief VI that was built in Japan by Bausch & Lomb. The Monte Carlo comb features a roll over cheek piece as well. CONDITION: Excellent. Shows only nominal handling wear. Mechanically sound with a bright bore. German code dates rifle to 1979. Consignor states: "THIS RIFLE IS NEW AND NEVER FIRED".
