High condition specimen of the compact Colt M16A1 machine gun with telescoping buttstock, forward assist and three position selector, "Safe, Semi, Auto". Consignor purchased new with original Colt upper with triangular handguards and carrying handle and also purchased an additional new Colt upper with flat top rail. Both uppers have 12 - 1/2" long barrels including flash hiders. Classic Colt logo and address with serial number on left side of receiver. Flip-up peep sight with early style windage adjustment requiring a cartridge point or tool on first upper. Murray Urbach modified the forward push-pin to make it easy to swap the uppers. Three 30 round magazines included (two Cooper, one Parsons) as well as the original manual. Overall appearance and finish is near excellent original finish on all metal parts with some light handling marks. Mechanics are crisp.
