Absolutely beautiful, albeit refinished, Russian folding stock AK-47 machine gun as manufactured in 1951 which was re-manufactured by Fleming apparently by saw cutting the receiver in two, and then professionally re-welding the two halves back together again. If one looks at it in the right light one can see where it was welded together. Visible numbers appear matching on receiver, action cover, and wood. Upon field stripping this firearm, the operating rod is also matching and the bolt has one stamped "9" with an electro-penciled "5" before it. Interpret this as you see fit. The lot includes one bayonet, serial numbered 0386 with scabbard, and frog. No magazine present. Cyrillic markings at selector with Cyrillic prefix to serial number interpreted as "nk" upon registration. Year of manufacture "1951r" (1951 year) immediately after serial number. Early Russian AK-47 folding stock machine guns registered as fully transferable are incredibly scarce, and pretty much surface for public sale only incidental to estate situations, as in this case. CONDITION: Overall appearance and finish near mint deep lustrous refinish upon re-manufacture with some softening to the left side receiver markings. Wood also lightly sanded and refinished, with serial number markings still very clear. Bolt itself is a slightly plum color. Bolt carrier remains appropriately in the white. Bore is very fine with some darkness in the grooves from firing residue. Bolt face very fine. Mechanics are crisp. This is a select fire machine gun. THIS IS A NATIONAL FIREARMS ACT ITEM AND REQUIRES BATF APPROVAL PRIOR TO TRANSFER. THIS ITEM IS FULLY TRANSFERABLE ON AN ATF FORM 3 OR 4.
