Classic World War II collectible Auto Ordnance, Bridgeport manufactured Thompson M1A1 machine gun with grey-green finish. Marked “U.S. Property” behind the rear sight, with Thompson bullet logo forward of the sight and typical M1A1 markings with “GHD” inspector marking on left side of receiver, as well as “P” proof at top of smooth barrel. “AOC” marked forward of magazine well and on rear sight base indicating Auto Ordnance Corporation. Rare M1 bolt in this gun. Gun includes 2 original near mint in original paper wrapper lustrous blue finish “Seymore” 30-round magazines and a third Seymore magazine out of wrapper. Electronic NFA registry indicates “THOMPSON” as the manufacturer. CONDITION: Overall appearance and finish is extremely fine to near excellent original finish with some slight loss of finish at the high edges and with a few handling marks. Wood is near excellent with the occasional handling mark. Bore is near excellent, shiny, and bright. Mechanics are crisp and positive. This is a select-fire machine gun. Wonderful attractive M1A1 for the discerning World War II collector. Most of these guns, when found, have been arsenal refinished. This one has not.
