This predecessor of the MP-34o is marked with “W” Austrian Eagle and “34” proof on left side of receiver below hinge of top cover. Visible numbers appear matching including receiver, bolt, cover latch, and safety. Stock has the distinctive sweep and profile particular to the MP-30. Safety forward of the trigger guard also indicative of the MP-30. Two original 32 round magazines for the long 9mm cartridges are included. The MP-30 was originally procured as a police weapon and utilized by the Austrian police. It was also marketed world-wide and sold in a number of calibers to order including 7.65 Luger, 7.63 Mauser, 9mm Parabellum, 9mm Steyr, 9mm Mauser, and .45 ACP. It was among the last of the milled steel “sub” machine guns before stamped sheet metal construction became the order of the day. CONDITION: Overall appearance and finish is very good to fine original finish with areas thinning to brown patina on the shroud and gray patina at high edges. Top cover release latch, bolt handle, and sling hardware finish handle thinning to a gray brown patina. Trigger guard hardware a pleasing gray patina with some blue in recessed areas. Stock has been sanded so that no markings remain and metal furnishings are slightly proud of the wood. Still, the wood is very clean and presents well, which no doubt was the intention. Mechanics are fine. Bore is fine, shiny and bright. Bolt is fine, slightly polished so number is barely discernible. This is a select-fire machine gun. Quite a nice example of its kind which is one of the last of the milled steel receiver machine guns. THIS IS A NATIONAL FIREARMS ACT ITEM AND REQUIRES BATF APPROVAL PRIOR TO TRANSFER. THIS ITEM IS FULLY TRANSFERABLE ON AN ATF FORM 3 OR 4 AS CURIO & RELIC ELIGIBLE. JWK 2019-10-192 CORRECTION: Gun is a Model MP-30.
