37 - 1/2" blade with a softly raised medial ridge, decorated with 11 graduated piercings towards the base, flanked by a pair of prongs. Crossguard with open ring designs and a raised medial ridge with four graduated piercings at the terminals and ten piercings on the larger of the rings. Faceted cruciform handle wrapped in leather and affixed by nails with an wooden spacer. Pommel of a flattened "scent stopper" form. CONDITION: Cleaned in the European fashion, now with grey patina and evidence of old oxidation, especially along edge and in upper half of blade. Leather has shrunk and crazed, with some rubs and peeling at base. An imposing example.
