ATTRACTIVE MAXIM MACHINE GUN CARRIAGE WITH WOODEN AMMUNITION BOXES.

This is a contemporary manufactured, yet faithfully executed, in brass, wood, and steel set of carriage wheels with wood ammunition boxes in metal brackets for the Argentine brass Maxim, or 1904 U.S. Maxim. Wheels measure 45" high and 67" hub to hub. One attaches the original tripod (with or without gun) to this set of wheels using the brass clamp on the axle, and this greatly aids one person moving this piece from place to place. 2 contemporary manufactured wooden boxes are large enough for either belted ammunition or tools. The beauty and quality of craftsmanship of this piece cannot be overstated. CONDITION: Near excellent throughout showing beautiful wood grain at the wheels with a steel axle and brass center socket. This would make an ideal display platform as well as a useful way to move your display as you see fit. This carriage will accommodate either the Argentine or the U.S. Maxim tripod, and no doubt many others using a "spacer". JWK 2023-12-41
